DATE: 11 September 2010
TIME: 10:00 am with Lunch immediately following
LOCATION: Rolla National Airport
(not
the downtown airport)
The third quarterly meeting
of the South Missouri Chapter of VHPA will be held on Patriots'
Day, September 11, 2010, at the Rolla
National Airport, near Vichy, Missouri. The meeting will be in the hangar
of Baron Aviation, where our host, Ed Schmidt, has several vintage airplanes
for us to see and learn about. Ed flew fixed wings in Vietnam and shares
many experiences which are similar to ours. We are hoping to have a Black
Hawk from Ft. Leonard Wood and/or an Apache from
Whiteman AFB.
Lunch will be catered by a renowned BBQ establishment from Rolla. Once the menu is finalized, the price will
be determined, and we will be asking for RSVP's. We want to have enough
to feed all that attend, without having much more than we need.
Please plan on attending this meeting, as we are really excited about the
location, as well as the opportunity to meet and get to know each other
better. If you flew in Southeast Asia
during the Vietnam era, or you know someone who
did, rotary or fixed wing, come and bring someone with you.
We expect a good crowd of aviators, their wives and family. If you haven't been to a meeting yet, or you're not a member yet but are considering joining the VHPASMO, come and visit. You'll like what you see and you'll have a good time meeting others that went through the same experience you did back in the 60's and 70's in Southeast Asia. Remember you don't have to be a member of the National VHPA to join our chapter.
Hope to see you there.
John Sorensen,
President
